Summary Description:

The VP of Sales and Business Development is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization. The incumbent plays a key role in enhancing and evolving our culture.  The VP will strategically guide and lead the organization to establish and execute plans and branch out into new markets, identify opportunities and aggressively pursue them to win the business. The VP is responsible for the sales team staffing, development, engagement and for holding the sales team accountable for goals and results. Collaboration is key for the incumbent to be successful.



·         Ensure company financial goals and department objectives are met through continued initiatives and associated strategies

·         Lead company’s planning and executing of strategies; collaborates with other executives towards achievement of organizational objectives especially the creative team and sourcing team

·         Responsible for competitive positioning of the organization within the marketplace

·         Responsible for determining the best processes and original ideas to sell Garven’s products

·         Designs, implements and manages sales forecasting, planning and budgeting processes

·         Responsible for optimal deployment of sales personnel; makes recommendations for changing sales and account management roles, coverage models, or team configurations in order to maximize sales productivity

·         Lead, manage, mentor and train the sales team with the tools they need to reach margin and sales goals

·         Creatively manage program development based upon marketplace needs

·         Defines our opportunities within Retail whitespace

·         Develop an overall strategic vision for the new business initiatives across all channels of the business

·         Negotiate contracts with customers and independent sales reps

·         Manage independent sales rep organizations

·         Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners, customers and also build upon an already strong respectable network within the retail industry



·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business with emphasis in Sales Management, Marketing or a related field

·         Seven to ten years of progressive sales and leadership experience

·         A proven record of strong sales success

·         Retail Acumen, as well as Financial Acumen

·         Strong networking and communication skills

·         Up to date and relevant technological skills and knowledge

·         Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

·         Superb judgement and ability to succeed in a fast paced, demanding environment
